Volunteering & Volunteer Management Objectives

Like any volunteer working in International Humanitarian Organizations, Volunteers at Pa Manso Foundation aims to support and assist the community at the social, cultural and economic levels individually or through subsidiary groups of the Foundation to provide services and assistance in various fields to meet urgent social needs or to serve one of the issues plaguing the community through the Foundation’s volunteers joining us.

Definition of Volunteering

Is the voltage provided by man to his community with his own will and in exchange for nothing intending thereby to bear some responsibilities in the areas aimed at achieving the humanitarian assistance.

The Strategic Goal of the Pa Manso Foundation regarding the Volunteers raise the readiness of volunteers and establishing a culture of voluntarism in the community.

Volunteers Management Objectives

  • Provide an opportunity for the people of Sierra Leone to participate in community service and to contribute in volunteering activities through specific mechanisms.
  • Conservation and development of volunteering programs in local groups that support the goals and objectives of Pa Manso Foundation.
  • Raise the readiness of volunteers and maintaining their morale through appreciating their achievements and contributions.
  • Creating teams of volunteers to assist it in the implementation of tasks carried out by the Foundation.
  • Support specific activities carried out by the Foundation’s departments by providing qualified volunteers.

Terms Of Volunteering In Pa Manso Foundation

First: The Individuals Volunteering

In order to join the volunteerism of Pa Manso Foundation, the applicant must meet the following conditions:

  • Be a citizen of the Republic of Sierra Leone or a citizen of the Economic Community of the West African States (EOWAS) countries or a resident who has a valid residency in Sierra Leone.
  • Be able to participate in volunteer programs established by the decision of the Founder/CEO of Pa Manso Foundation or upon the recommendation of two (2) members of the Board of Directors.
  • Be of good behavior.
  • The age of the applicant shall not be less than (18) years and not more than (50) years, and applicants younger than (18) years will be accepted in the framework of the activities of student Pa Manso Foundation and applicants older than (50) years may be accepted by a resolution of the Board of Directors upon the recommendation of the Founder/CEO of the Foundation.
  • Be committed in the exercise of its activity to the principles of the International Federation.
  • He must have an educational level not less than high school.
  • He must have a license to practice the profession from the competent authorities in the state, if the practice of that profession requires that and his volunteering was limited to his career.
Second: Volunteering of Companies and Institutions
  • The institution must be reputable so that its participation will not affect the Foundation’s reputation and status in the local and international community.
  • The institution wishing to volunteer must specify the names of its members who wish to volunteer provided that they meet the conditions of the acceptance of the individuals’ volunteering.
Documents required to accept the volunteerism which should be included in the web portal of volunteering:-
  1. A copy of valid passport.
  2. A copy of valid residency (for expatriates).
  3. A photograph.
  4. The last academic qualification.
  5. A valid Sierra Leone citizenship Identity Card.
  6. License to practice the profession for doctors, nurses and paramedics.

Community Initiatives For The Management Of Volunteers

The Training Program For Volunteers

Volunteers are nominated for training courses within the annual training program which is implemented during the year in collaboration with some of the departments of Pa Manso Foundation and also the institutions of community work, the volunteer must pass the core courses after the acceptance of his/her volunteering in the Foundation (first aid, international humanitarian law, Sphere Project course.

Humanitarian Voluntary Work Camp

A camp which is organized once a year, the camp aims to create an opportunity for the largest number of volunteers joining the Foundation to benefit from courses and programs prepared for this camp on one hand, and to implement programs and humanitarian activities on the other hand, as the camp will be organized in different places and at the level of the Republic of Sierra Leone.

Care For Community Initiatives For Volunteers

The Foundation will take care of the initiatives proposed by the volunteers joining the Foundation and which are compatible with the objectives and principles of Pa Manso Foundation, where the management of volunteers will provide the climate and adequate support for the implementation of community-based initiative, which aims to serve the community or one of its categories.

The Functions Of “Contribute” Program

  • Participation in the implementation of external tasks of the Foundation.
  • Support the implementation of programs and activities of the Foundation departments on the local scale.
  • Support the implementation of programs and activities of the Foundation’s departments on the local scale.
  • Full readiness to meet any demands of the Foundation in the time of disasters and crises.
  • Coordination of civil society institutions contributions in the implementation of humanitarian missions.

‘Sahem’ Humanitarian Volunteering Program

A program for the rehabilitation of a group of volunteers joining Pa Manso Foundation so that the focus will be on attracting male and female university students, in addition to the main volunteers in the Foundation whose ages are between (18-40 years), this age group is considered to be targeted in the program.

Aoun’S Award For Community Service

This award seeks to promote the spirit of volunteerism and instilling social responsibility in the hearts of young people and to create the culture of volunteerism in the community.

Objectives Of The Aoun’S Award

  • To achieve the objectives of Pa Manso Foundation and to transform them into realistic businesses serving the local community.
  • To enhance the value of the volunteer work for the implementation of distinctive community and human-based programs serving the community.
  • To spread community awareness of social solidarity objectives through school students.
  • To support the important role of the school to instill the concepts of belonging and loyalty to the homeland and the spirit of volunteerism in the hearts of students and to use its role to spread the concepts of volunteering values in the community.
  • Instilling the values of initiative and positive competition and participation in national activities.

Pa Manso Students’ Groups

Pa Manso Students’ Groups

Volunteers of Pa Manso Students Groups are formed in the beginning of the academic year. The Coordinators of the Volunteering Management Team (CVMT) go to schools located in the geographical scope of the Foundation branches. Their basic work is forming Volunteers’ Groups in Universities, Primary/Secondary schools by filling out the Foundation’s Volunteers’ forms. Volunteers are subjected to necessary training courses such as First Aid and International Humanitarian Law and they will be introduced to the role of Pa Manso Foundation Volunteers. These groups are also invited to participate in the Pa Manso Award for Community Service (PMACS) that is launched by the Board of Directors/Decision Making Body at the beginning of academic year, which is an important initiative to motivate the youths of the Districts in Sierra Leone.

Sahem Humanitarian Volunteering Program

Sahem Humanitarian Volunteering Program

Sahem Humanitarian Volunteering is a program for the rehabilitation of a group of volunteers joining Pa Manso Foundation so that the focus will be on attracting male and female university students, in addition to the main volunteers in the Foundation whose ages are between (18-40 years), this age group is considered to be targeted in the program. “Contribute” program consists of seven groups affiliated to the Foundation branches in seven emirates, there are two divisions in the program which are:
First: Groups Leadership Division

This Division oversees the management of the performance of “Contribute” program groups formed in the branches of the Foundation with direct communication and evaluation of the performance of all groups, where each group will have a leader from the volunteers in each branch…

The Strategic Goal of Pa Manso Foundation regarding Volunteers is to raise the readiness of volunteers and establishes a culture of voluntarism in the community.

Second: Community Institutions Contribution Division

This Division oversees the contributions of civil society organizations in the implementation of humanitarian missions that are mentored by senior management of the Foundation, so that all the necessary basics are provided and the coordination to accomplish each task to promote the community partnership in this area.
